John "Bud" Newlon Faubus Sr.

John "Bud" Newlon Faubus Sr., 76, of Springdale, Ark.. passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 in Springdale. He was born February 4, 1941 in Elkins to John Morgan and Lona Newlon Faubus. He was a supervisor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department and retired after 36 ½ years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and going-on long drives and storytelling. Bud was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Kay Davis; a brother, Thomas Calvin Faubus; and a sister, Wanda Lou Woods. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sharon Kay Ritchie Faubus of the home; two sons, John Newlon Faubus, Jr. of Springdale and Morgan Doyle Faubus and wife, Jamie of Springdale; two daughters, Sherry Ann Faubus of Springdale and Cheryl Susan Skaggs and husband, Randy of Brentwood; a sister, Ava Grace "Sue" Hopper of Wichita, KS.; 9 grandchildren, Blake Shepherd, Larissa Johnson, Heather King, Mitchell Davis, Riley Skaggs, Chesney Skaggs, Katelynn Skaggs, Kylie Skaggs and Meghann Faubus; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee Wynn, Kennedy Davis, Gabriel Shepherd, Takara Mullen, Achilles Mullen, Roran Mullen and Matteo Davis. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Beard's Chapel with Michael Clanton officiating.
