Kameelah Jones

Kameelah Jones, 36, of Little Rock, transitioned on September 8, 2017. Kameelah Jones was born in West Helena to the late Darlene Buford and Harrison Steel on September 30, 1980. She attended J.A. Fair followed by University of Phoenix. She was a phenomenal mom, the sweetest sister, caring cousin, and devoted friend. Kameelah was preceded in death by her mother, Darlene Buford, grandfather, Emanuel Jones. Kameelah is survived by her children, Jaylon Jones, Jamal Jones, Tiome Jones, Tyler Jones, Bentley Jones, fiancé, Nick Sanders; stepfather, Charles Buford, brother, Emanul Jones: sisters, Charlene (Rodney Johnson) of Little Rock, Ark., Kiana Steel of Chicago, Ill., Yolanda Jackson of Forrest City, Ark.; grandmother, Mary (Ray Donaldson) of Little Rock, Ark.; special devoted great-aunt, Lorene Funches of Bryant, Ark.; aunts, Ella Faye (Joe Miles) of Georgia, Jackie (Amani Woolfolk) of Virginia, Tia (Michael Charles) of Georgia, Melody (Ben Davis) of Arkansas, uncle, Leonard Fitzgerald (Vivian) of West Helena, Ark., Dennis Fitzgerald (Essie) of White Hall, Ark.; a host of relatives and friends. The visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2017 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Greater Trinity Church of God in Christ, 2400 Wright Ave., Little Rock, Ark. 72202. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Greater Trinity Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow at Elmlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Peaceful Rest Funeral Home.
