James (Pop) Hardin Salter Jr.

JAMES (POP) HARDIN SALTER, JR. (68) began his life's journey on May 10, 1949 in Montgomery, Ala., and ended his journey on Sept. 12, 2017 in Little Rock, Ark. James was a Vietnam Veteran who served our country for eight years in the USAF. After his time in the Air Force, he also served in the Air Reserve and the Army National Guard. After his military service, James continued serving our country as a Civil Service Employee at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. James served his country for a total of 39 years. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife, Linda G. Salter of Little Rock, Ark.; three sons, James Salter III of Benton, Ark.; Anthony Jackson of Vallejo, Calif.; and Karl Jackson of Salem, Ark.; three daughters, Stephanie Salter of Decatur, Ga.; Latonja Council of Fayetteville, N.C.; and Carma Salter of Snellville, Ga.; one brother, three sisters, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017 at Premier Funeral Home, 1518 Battery Street, Little Rock, Ark at 6 p.m. Services will be Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at Premier in the Chapel at 11 a.m. The Interment will be Friday at the Arkansas State Veteran Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Ark., at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that a donation be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital in his name.
