Mildred Bessie Graves Stough, age 97, of North Little Rock, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Mildred as born December 26, 1919, in Hazen, Arkansas, and was the daughter of William Austin Graves, Sr. and Emma Roberta Johnson Graves. On June 2, 1940, she married Alvin Franklin Stough and they were married until his death in 1996. In addition to living in North Little Rock, they also lived in West Memphis and Forrest City, Arkansas. Mildred was a graduate of Forrest City High School. She was a bookkeeper, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother and a friend to all. Mildred loved caring for her family and self-sacrifice was a way of life for her. She was an outstanding quilter, seamstress, artist, and an excellent cook. She loved having her family together for Sunday dinners and holiday feasts. She was well known for her homemade bread which she generously shared with family and friends for many years. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 56 years, Alvin Franklin Stough, brothers; George, Richard and Bill Graves, sisters; Etta Graves Courtney and Margaret Melvina Graves. Survivors include; a daughter, Margaret Stough Woodruff of Clinton, Mississippi, a son, Sidney Wayne Stough, (Beth), of North Little Rock, seven grandchildren; Charlie Dan Woodruff Jr., (Marci), Scott Alan Woodruff, (Fran), Stephen Michael Stough, Shannon Wayne Stough, (Angela), Stuart Webster Stough, (Aimee), Elizabeth Louise Parker, James William Parker Jr., 13 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Fox Ridge, N.L.R. and Arkansas Hospice for their loving care of Mildred. Services for Mrs. Stough will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 11 a.m., Tuesday, with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., until the time of the service. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials are to be made to The Salvation Army Central Arkansas, P.O.
