Mary Jo Cheek

Mary "Jo" Cheek, 81, of Searcy, went to be with her Lord September 20. She was born January 1, 1936 to the late Lloyd Osler and Lorine Elizabeth Weathers in Salem, Arkansas. Jo was retired from the Arkansas Department of Education Title I Program and was one of the original volunteers for the Clinton Presidential Library. She is survived by two daughters, Kerry Rainwater (Randy) of Searcy and Jami Moore (Jeremy) of Garland, Texas; sister, Ollie L. Land (Ted) of Salem, Arkansas; grandchildren, Jared Landrum, Derek Landrum, Dalton LaCaze, Flave Carpenter, Remi LaCaze and Reid Carpenter; one niece, Jo Beth Brady (Dennis). She was preceded in death by her parents. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, September 24 at 2 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Jo and her family would appreciate in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
