Hans Helmut Bessner

HANS HELMUT BESSNER, 67, of Little Rock died Friday, March 30, 2018. He was born February 23, 1951 in Flonheim, Germany to Lilly Roth and Paul Helmut Bessner. As a younger man, Hans was an avid runner and swimmer. He treasured his experiences traveling all over the U.S. with his son Trevor and had a particular affinity for anything history-related, and especially enjoyed visiting Civil War battlefields. Hans found the most joy being outdoors and loved to work in his yard and garden, often accompanied by his adopted black lab, Sawyer. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Trevor Paul Bessner and Bonnie Lynn Bessner of Gig Harbor, Washington; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa Renee (Bessner) McDaniel and Charles David McDaniel Jr. and two granddaughters, Eleanor Delaney McDaniel and Margaret Ruth McDaniel of Little Rock, Arkansas; mother, Lilly (Roth) Bessner of Carlsbad, California; sister and brother-in-law, Rosel and George Tomaszewski of San Marcos, California; and ex-wife and life-long friend, Deborah Bessner of Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Helmut Bessner. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
