Larry Edman Johnson

Larry Edman Johnson, age 58, of Austin, Ark., gained his wings on March 31, 2018; he was born November 22, 1959 at Des Arc, Ark. Larry graduated from Des Arc High School and then went on to Foothills Technical School in Searcy, Ark., to gain his diploma in small engine repair. He was employed as a jailer/dispatcher for Prairie County Sheriff's Department, then went on to join the Stuttgart Police Department as a patrolman until he was injured in the line of duty. His favorite things of all time to do were hunting, fishing, and his passion was playing baseball, until he was injured then he coached and umpired Cal Ripkin Little League in Lonoke and other cities in Arkansas. He enjoyed teaching the children the fundamentals of baseball, and seeing them succeed in the game. He is preceded in death by his parents Hershel and Louise Johnson. He is survived by his sisters Jaunita Johnson Horn of Cabot, and Janice Johnson Jones of Austin; three children, Dennis Wayne Johnson of Cabot, Whitney Nicole Johnson of North Little Rock, and Bradley Lawrence Johnson of Conway; three grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. Memorial service Friday, April 6, 1 p.m., Boyd Chapel.
