Dorothy Evelyn Buck

Dorothy Evelyn Buck, age 88, of Cabot formerly of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Friday, April 6, 2018 at her home. She was born January 5, 1930 in Clark County, the daughter of the late William Horace and Olive Vivian Ruff Helms. Dorothy was a 1947 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. She was the retired Office Manager and Vice President of Capitol Chemical and Supply Company after thirty eight years of service. Dorothy was a member of Mt Carmel Church in Cabot. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed gardening, reading, working crossword puzzles and bird watching in her free time. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lewis E. Buck, three brothers, Glen Myron Helms, Robert Louis Helms and Gifford Lalen Helms. Survivors are one daughter, Cheryl L. Stafford (Gene) of Malvern, one son, Ronnie Buck (Tammy) of Cabot, one brother, George B. Helms (Christine) of Arkadelphia, one sister, Betty Whitley (Melvin) of Malvern, four grandchildren, Lori Stafford and Karen Taylor both of Malvern, Ashley Burns (Chris) of Cabot, and MacGyver Buck (Amy) of Owens Crossroads, AL, four great grandchildren, Aimee Stafford and Ava Taylor both of Malvern, Chandler and Melia Burns both of Cabot, special cousins, Bobby and Ann Ridgell and family of Collinsville, OK. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Richland Cemetery with Associate Pastor Terry Whitley officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday at Welch Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Richland Cemetery c/o Debbie Manning, 2379 Central Rd, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
