David Brian Wingfield, Sr.

DAVID BRIAN WINGFIELD, SR., age 71, of Maumelle, Ark., departed this world in faith on Friday, April 13, 2018. David was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on September 18, 1946, to Elmer and Margret Wingfield. He was preceded in death by both parents and stepson Phillip Birch. David is survived by his loving wife Franki Wingfield; son David Brian Wingfield Jr.; daughter Mary Margret Wingfield; grandson John A. Wingfield; stepdaughters Lawren (Chris) Aycock, Eva (Aaron) Wojcik, and Lacy (Terry) Copley, and stepson Michael Birch. He is also survived by 10 step-grandchildren who loved and adored their Grampa David: Morganne Fason, Bradley Aycock, Joseph Birch, Drake Aycock, Maddox White, Aiden Copley, Oliver Wojcik, Preston Copley, Stella Wojcik, and Hazel Wojcik. He also leaves behind his cherished sister Mary (Bob) Menking, and niece Christine (Jason) Gronwald, and their children, Zoe and Gigi Gronwald. He will also be missed by his beloved companion Sophia, who has been by his side for the last 11 years, and by his best friend and business partner, Randy Mourning. David was a faithful friend of Bill Wilson for the last 17 years, and will be dearly missed by all those who fellowshipped with him. David graduated from Coronado (Calif.) High School in 1964. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Richmond K. Turner. While earning his B.A. in business administration from UALR, David became a proud member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He received a master's degree in health care administration through Webster University. He worked for the Arkansas Health Department and Arkansas State Office on Aging, but spent most of his career in hospital administration for St. Joseph's in Hot Springs, Ark., and St. John's in Salina, Kan. In his latter years, David worked for L. R. Mourning Company as project manager and safety compliance officer. David has traveled the world and loved deep-sea fishing, fly fishing, motorcycling, and was an avid Corvette enthusiast. But most of all, he loved his family and friends and will be so deeply missed by all of them. Visitation will be Thursday, April 19, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Pkwy., Little Rock, from 5-7 p.m., with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Rd., Little Rock, on Friday, April 20, at 11 a.m. Burial is immediately following the funeral service at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy. 5, Alexander. Following the burial, Christ the King Catholic Church will provide a luncheon in the Family Life Center.
