William B. "Bill" Rogers Sr. 92, of El Dorado, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. He was born October 27, 1925, to Frank A. and Myrtle Barnett Rogers in El Dorado, Ark. Bill was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during WWII in the South Pacific and later in the Korean Conflict. He was a retiree of Lion Oil Corp and a graduate of Louisiana Tech University. Bill was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church, a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, and the El Dorado Masonic Lodge #13. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying deer, duck and turkey hunting and woodworking. Preceding him in death are his parents and sister, Toni Combs. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Barbara Rogers of El Dorado; two daughters, Laurie Norris (Steve) of Spring, Texas, Julie Pettitt (Todd) of North Little Rock, Ark.; two sons, Bryan Rogers (Valerie) of North Little Rock, Jeff Rogers (Laura) of El Dorado; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Entombment will be held at Campground Cemetery in Hampton, Ark. at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Winston Roden officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 2010 W. Hillsboro, El Dorado, Ark. 71730, or to the John R. Williamson Hospice House, 2301 Champagnolle Rd., El Dorado, Ark. 71730.
