Evelyn Annie "Mimi" Carter of Little Rock passed away April 25, 2018. She was born July 14, 1941 in Ward, Ark. to the late Teddy and Morene Ashmore. Evelyn was a lab tech for the Arkansas Department of Health and enjoyed playing Bingo. Mimi was deeply loved and will be missed. Survivors include her daughters: Roberta Cranston (Will) and Brenda Brink; step-children: Terry Carter (Sheila), Paula Carter and Kenneth Carter; granddaughter, Brittany Zakrzewski; siblings: Charlene Tapia, Gene Ashmore (Jewel), and Betty Jones; aunt, "Ellie" Morrison; and other extended family members. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband of 23 years, Ray Lamar Carter, and brother, Wayne Ashmore. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 followed by the funeral at 11:30 a.m. at Smith-North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. Graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Springs Cemetery, Monticello, Arkansas, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. Online guestbook at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
