Mary Lee Elderton, age 95, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Bradford House in Bentonville. She was born on April 22, 1923, in Havana, Arkansas, to Ervin Quincy and Dora A. (Walker) Walker. She is preceded in death by her biological parents; her adoptive parents, Wilburn and Zona Walker; her husband and the father of her children, John William McFee; her husband, John Leon Elderton; her son, Gary McFee; her daughter, Carol McFee Barker; two brothers, Carmon Walker and Lynton Walker; her sister, Marie Fredrick; her step-brother, Harmon Walker; and her step-sister, Reba Scott. Mary was a beautician by trade and spent 15 years working in the Fayetteville community between the two shops of Campbell Bell and Colonial Village. She loved to garden and could often be found establishing friendships with neighbors while tending to her flowers. In her later years while living at Bradford House, she became connected with Monte Ne Baptist Church through their mission activities ministry. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Whelchel and husband David of Bella Vista; her son, Wayne McFee and wife Sandra of Mount Vernon, Washington; her five grandchildren, Wayne McFee, Jr., Gerald Wayne McFee, Ross Lee McFee, Amy Denise Campbell, and Andrew Harmon Barker; her nine great-grandchildren; and her five great-great-grandchildren.
