Lucille E. Doolos

Lucille E. Doolos, loving Mother, returned to our heavenly Father on August 6, 2018. Lucille was born in Conway, Arkansas to Adalbert and Mary Rumker Lachowsky on June 26, 1922. She was a life-long member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Conway, Arkansas. She attended and graduated from St. Joseph High School. She then completed nursing training at St. Vincent's Infirmary, Little Rock, Arkansas. Upon successful completion of nursing training as a registered nurse, she entered the US Army Nurse Corps (ANC) as a first lieutenant. She served as a nurse during World War II and went on to spend a lifetime caring for others. Upon discharge from the Army, she lived in Conway, Arkansas, Hot Springs, Arkansas and San Antonia, Texas. She settled in Conway in 1953. Upon returning to Arkansas she was employed as a nurse at the Conway Memorial Hospital, St. Vincent's Infirmary in Little Rock, and finally at the Arkansas Children's Colony, now known as Arkansas Human Development Center in Conway. After she retired from the Children's Colony, she spent her time with her family, in the garden and tending flowers in her yard. Lucille is survived by three sons, John Doolos (Cathy) of Connelly Springs, N.C., Robert Doolos (JoAnn) of Baton Rouge, La. and Alan Doolos of Conway. She has four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A rosary will be held at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, Arkansas at 6 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 11th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway, Arkansas.
