Joe Edward Blanks Sr,

Mr. Joe Edward Blanks Sr. was born April 27, 1941 in Emerson, Arkansas to his loving parents Joe Lee and Nancy Blanks. He was the oldest boy of 10 siblings. Joe was joined in holy matrimony to the late Dolly Mae Walker. To this union three sons were born. Preceding him in death was a son, John Blanks, three siblings, Al Benjamin Blanks, John Blanks, and Mildred Owens. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Blanks; sons, Joe Edward Blanks Jr. (Vesta) of Little Rock Arkansas and Louis Bernard Blanks (Shanta) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; siblings, Dorothy Coleman, Evelyn Horton (Enoch) all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Mollie Hawkins of Dayton, Ohio, Erserline Blanks of Memphis, Tennessee, Earl Blanks of Cincinnati, Ohio and Herman Blanks of Texas City, Texas. Joe also leaves to cherish his memory, two special aunts, Marie Russ of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Irene Russ of Magnolia, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; nieces, nephews; a host of family and friends. Joe enjoyed a fruitful life helping others. Funeral services will be at 12 noon, Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the Pine Hill Baptist Church with the reverend Glenn Barnes Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the Cedar Grove section of Graceland Cemetery with services entrusted to the P.K. Miller Mortuary.
