Argenta Ree Willis, affectionately called "Generee", was born on May 24, 1927 to Robert and Snodie Pendleton Willis in Palestine, Arkansas. Argenta Willis was a proud graduate of the Lincoln High School Class of 1945. She retired as the cafeteria manager at Stewart Elementary School in the Forrest City School District. In 1949, Mr. Willie C. Stegall asked Generee to be his bride. They were united in holy matrimony for twelve (12) years before he was killed in a tragic logging accident in October of 1961. Although she was saddened by this loss, she opened her heart to Mr. Albert Kirkland, Jr. and became his bride March 8, 1969. Both of them surrendered their lives to the Lord and united with the Day's Temple Church of God in Christ in that same year. Argenta Willis Kirkland passed away quietly in her home on Sunday, August 12, 2018 surrounded by those who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Kirkland, Jr., her parents and six siblings: Nehemiah, Sherman, Hillis, Brunetta, Irma, and Future Mae. She leaves to cherish her memory three sisters: Mrs. Ercille Devine of Little Rock, Arkansas; Mrs. Teresa McKisick of Forrest City, Arkansas and Mrs. Sailor (Freddie) Martin of St. Louis, Missouri. She also leaves two very special sisters-in-law; Mrs. Mildred Willis and Mrs. Betty Mae Willis of St. Louis, Missouri. She will be missed by three very special relatives, Melissa Mitchell, Othie Mae Lewis and Mary Ann Tuberville as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and the Day's Temple Church family.
