Master Sergeant Robert "Bob" Fuller died peacefully on August 15th, 2018 in Conway. He was 89. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Vada Lois Fuller. Robert is survived by his three children: Danny Fuller and wife Carol of Little Rock, Ark., Deborah Carruthers of Humble, Texas, and Gary Fuller of Cooper City, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christopher Fuller and wife Jennie of Austin, Texas, Leandra Carruthers of Houston, Texas, Kelly Carruthers of Houston, Texas, Rebecca Buch and husband Billy of Sunrise, Fla., and Sarah Marcellin of Chicago, Ill., and two great grandchildren, Lexi Fuller and Christian Fuller of Austin, Texas. He is also preceded in death by his parents Ivy Mae and Marshall Fuller, brother Jimmy Fuller and son-in-law Cliff Carruthers. Robert was born on September 15, 1928 in Cassville, Indiana to Marshall and Ivy Mae Fuller. He married Vada Van Winkle on Christmas Eve 1952, a marriage that would stand for nearly 60 years, until the death of Vada in 2012. He was a 22-year veteran of the United States Air Force, serving on bases in Kansas, Alaska, Hawaii, New Jersey, and Madrid Spain. After retiring from the Air Force, Robert again entered civil service as a member of the US Postal Service, from which he retired after 18 years of continuous service. Mr. Fuller was a dedicated family man. He instilled the importance of a hard work ethic and a never give up attitude. "I can't" was never a good answer; "I will give it my best try" was always right. He was a true role model and believed that one should never judge a person from the outside but look inside. He and his wife raised three children to be self-sufficient and powerfully independent. His guiding principal was to make sure they had the opportunities he never had, so they could have a better life. Robert and Vada most certainly succeeded in this. Over the years, he was an active and dedicated member of the Conway Lions Club and the Conway High School Band Parents organization. Visitation will be on August 21st, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at GRIFFIN LEGGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1751 Dave Ward Drive, Conway, Arkansas 72034. A brief graveside service will be held on August 22nd at 11:00 AM, at CRESTLAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 472 Hwy 64 East, Conway, Arkansas. An online guestbook is available at www.griffinleggettconway.com.
