Levanna Mildred Wilson was born February 15, 1940 in Little Rock, Arkansas to union of the late Rev. Levi Stephen Overall and Mrs. Mildred Smith-Overall. She was preceded in death by her only sibling, Emma Nancy Overall-Perry. Levanna is survived by her former husband, Joe A. Wilson, along with their four children, Viveca Wilson, Mesquite Texas, Gary Wilson, (Cheryl) and Tammy Howard (Willie) of Little Rock, Ark. and Lee Steven Wilson (Demetrious) Wylie, Texas; four grandchildren, Chantal Wilson, Joey Wilson, Stephan Wilson and Evan Howard; one great-grandchild, Jordan Wilson; two nephews Michael Perry and Reginald Perry, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, family and friends, Academically, Levanna prepared herself with a M.S.E. in Elementary Education, at Henderson State University in 1972, a B.S.E in Elementary Education at Arkansas Baptist College in 1970. Levanna holds the following Arkansas Professional Certifications and Licenses: Elementary School Principal, Pre- K-8 in 1985, Early Childhood Education, Professional 1972, Elementary Teacher Self-contained Pre-k-8 1970 and Arkansas Real Estate License 2007. Affiliations, Memberships, and Community Involvement include: Phi Delta Kappa Membership, Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Gamma Nu Chapter Member, NAACP Education Committee, Pulaski County Vocational Technical College Board of Directors, (Representing Early Childhood), and served as a Volunteer Voter Registrar. Founding President of the Little Rock Business and Professional Women's Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs, Inc. Levanna served as a Life Member with great love for this fine organization. Member of the Horace Mann Class of 1957 Affiliate, National Dunbar Alumni Association Affiliate, and Horace Mann High School National Alumni Association. Saint Mark Baptist Church Member since May 8, 1994, served in the following ministries, Ambassador, Children's Church Instructor, Pre-K Teacher in Church Youth Outreach Program, 2008 Graduate of the Roddy E. Collins School of Ministry and started as a 2017 participant of the Saint Mark Baptist Church Life Group Program. Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6-7 pm at Saint Mark Baptist Church Funeral Service will be 10 al.m. Saturday February 3, 2018 at Saint Mark Baptist Church.
