WILLIE MAUDE WARD CULP, 97, died January 28, 2018. She was born, in Haskell, Texas, the youngest of six children, on June 28, 1920, to Willie Maude McNeely and Henry Ward. She graduated from Prairie Grove High School in 1938 and from Edward's School of Nursing in Fort Smith in 1942. She married Dudley Phillips Culp, late owner of The Fort Smith Office Supply, in 1942. For many years Mrs. Culp worked as an RN in maternity at St. Edward's and Sparks Hospitals. She was the mother of two daughters, Carol Culp Robinson of Little Rock and Barbara Ann Culp Maxwell of Fort Smith, who survive her. After Dudley's death in 1971, several years later she married Dudley's bachelor brother, Jack, and moved to Sacramento, California, where she worked faithfully for 23 years to further the children's programs at Cypress Avenue Baptist Church. In 1996 the couple moved to Little Rock, where they were active members of Calvary Baptist Church. Jack died in 2008. Mrs. Culp lived a life serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is also survived by granddaughter Barkley Beers of Fayetteville; grandsons Chase Robinson of Midland, Texas, Larry Ed Woodard and Lance Woodard of Fort Smith; great-granddaughters Eva Caroline Beers of Fayetteville and Chloe Michelle Robinson of Little Rock; granddaughter-in-law April Robinson of Little Rock; sons-in-law Randy Robinson of Little Rock and Earle Maxwell of Fort Smith. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Monday, February 5, 2018 in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
