Frances Muriel Buckman

Frances Muriel Buckman went to her heavenly home on Saturday, February 3, 2018, just five days before her 91st birthday. Frances lived her life in Plainview, Ark. and in DeWitt, Ark. She was born in Bellville, Ark. on February 8, 1927 to Mattie May Lampkins Majors and Joseph Ladd Majors, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Doyle Buckman Sr. in 1975, and by six siblings: Elwin L. Majors, Leland M. Majors, Joseph L. Majors Jr., John F. Majors Sr., and Harold W. Majors and one sister, Elise Majors Thompson. She is survived by two children, Carolyn Turner of DeWitt and Ernie Buckman and his wife Vicki of Russellville; five grandchildren; Doyle Buckman and his wife Jennifer of Havana, Bradley Buckman of Russellville, Eric Clay Buckman and his wife Kandace of Dardanelle and Chris Turner and his wife Suzanne, and Jennifer Turner, of Dallas, Texas; her great grandchildren include E.D., and Cory Buckman of Havana, Ark. Landen Kurdus, Rikki, and Remi Buckman of Dardanelle, Ark. and Whit and Emory Turner of Dallas, Texas; her sisters, Pauline Fair of Little Rock, Ark. and Iris "Susie" Christy of Georgetown, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, and special friends, Kim Jones and Nathan Smith. Frances was a member of First Christian Church of DeWitt and a resident of Crestpark Retirement Home in DeWitt. She was a fabulous cook, an avid reader, and a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved her family who belovedly called her Granny B. The family appreciates Crestpark and her compassionate caretakers whom she loved. The family is honoring her request that a private family gathering be held near her birthplace at a later date. There will be a visitation on Saturday, February 10, from 2-4 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall at First Christian Church, 1801 South Grandview Drive, DeWitt.
