Rell Lavan Lawson, 75, of Parkdale, died Sunday, February 4, 2018. Mr. Lawson was a native of Parkdale and a former resident of Hamburg. He was a Police Officer for 22 years and a member of the Southside Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and loved all types of hunting, especially coon and deer hunting. He was a member of the World Coon Hunting Association and won a World Championship in 1977. He is preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Darlene Lawson; a son, J.T. Lawson; a step-grandson, Caleb Spaulding; his parents, J.T. & Ollie Mae Ballinger Lawson, three brothers and a sister. He is survived by a son, William "Bo" Lawson of Fayetteville; four daughters, Tracey Lawson (Mike Croswell) of Hamburg, Sandi Borzewski and husband, Greg, Corene Schmidt and husband, Keith, and Cindy Richter and husband, Brian, all of Racine, Wisconsin; a brother, Glen Lawson and wife, Carolyn, of Hamburg; two step-sons, Jamie Spaulding and wife, Lorenda, and Robbie Spaulding and wife, Patricia, all of Portland; 18 grandchildren, John, Greg, Miranda, Tabitha, Matthew, Josh, Jarrod, Christopher, Danielle, Jaydon, Hailie, Alexah, Taylor, Glennys, Eric, Steven, Timothy and Charra and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Pierce officiating. Burial will be in the Portland Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Lawson, Mike Croswell, Elmer "Bo" Edwards, Phillip Tanksley, Dewel Williamson, Dennis Holland, Charlie Aldredge and Marty Albright. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas. Online guest book at www.jones-hartshorn.com.
