Troy Baxley

Troy Baxley, 64, of Benton, Arkansas; entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Sunday morning, February 11, 2018. He was born to the late James E. and Doris Sweeten Baxley on January 30, 1954 in Little Rock, Arkansas. Troy is also proceeded in death by his in-laws, Walter and Marie Wimmer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Patti Wimmer Baxley; one son Eric, and his wife Athena Webb Baxley; sister Gail Baxley, his adopted "red headed" sister, Brenda Womack; and his life-long "closer than a brother" friend, Kim Kimbrough. He has two uncles, Gerald Baxley of Benton, Ark., and Nathan Sweeten of Galveston, Texas; one aunt, Marilyn Sweeten of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law Brenda Wimmer, and two spoiled canine children Scrappy and Cocoa, along with many cousins and extended family members and friends.= Troy retired from the state of Arkansas where he worked in Corrections for over 20 years. He made the decision to retire so he would be available to care for his Dad, which he did, faithfully. Troy loved the out-of-doors, guns, knives, history, weather and prophecy. Troy also loved to receive scam or telemarketer calls just so he could harass them about calling. He was a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church where he served on the security team. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ashby Funeral Home. A Celebration of Troy's life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, in the chapel of Ashby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Indian Springs Baptist Church, P. O. Box 486, Bryant, Ark., 72089 – Attention: Security Team.
