Ann Windsor Brown

Ann Windsor Brown of Wynne, Arkansas, formerly of Marianna, Ark. age 85, went to be with her Lord on February 12, 2018. Ann was born on December 1, 1932 to Charles Arthur Windsor and Maxcyne Daggett Shurlds in Helena, Arkansas. She married Ben Thompson Brown Jr. on November 2, 1951, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded by her parents, one daughter, Patricia Brown Kroll, and one brother, Eben Daggett. Ann graduated from T.A. Futrell High School in Marianna and attended the University of Memphis and Hendrix College. She was an active member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Marianna, serving as choir director, lay reader, and in many other capacities. She was an avid bridge player who achieved her life master in American Contract Bridge League. She is survived by two daughters, Amelia Brown Davis and husband Robert Bub of Wynne, Ark., and Julia Brown Davis and husband Don of Pittsboro, N.C.; three granddaughters, Denise Davis Jones and husband Barry of Marianna, Karen Davis McLendon and husband Elton of Wynne, and Brittany Louise Davis of Durham, N.C.; five great-grandchildren, Sarah and Tenley McLendon, Corey, Amelia Cate, and Abby Jones; one brother, Larry Shurlds of Charleston, S.C.; three sisters, Katherine Shurlds of Fayetteville, Ark., Lynn Taylor of Greensboro, N.C., and Amy Myren of Cherokee Village, Ark.; and her beloved dog, Shorty. Visitation is at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Ark. on Thursday, February 15th from 5-7 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, February 16th at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Marianna, Ark. Pallbearers are Bart Dixon, Vince DeSalvo, Donald Carlow, Paul Wilson, Seth Poindexter, Carrold Ray, Doug Gibson and honorary pallbearer, Carl Norman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Marianna.
