Leland Earl Wells

Leland Earl Wells, 77, of Bradford, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 in Newport. He was born February 20, 1940 in Bradford a son of the late Earl and Jettie Reed Wells. He was a retired farmer who enjoyed gardening, woodworking and grafting trees. Mr. Wells was a Bradford School District board member for 35 years and president of the state board in 2003. He was a member of the Possum Grape Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gwendolyn Harris Wells; son, Wendell Wells (Kathy); daughters, Laura Letbetter (Tim) and Amanda Dawson (Doug); sister, Leona Faye Robinson (Paul); grandchildren, Hannah Lacey (Sean), Rebecca Letbetter, Gillian and Leah Wells, Jackson and Brody Dawson. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Possum Grape Church of Christ.
