Russell DeWayne Johnson

Russell DeWayne Johnson, 72, of Garfield passed away peacefully in his sleep and went to Heaven February 14, 2018 in his home. He was born September 10, 1945 in Busch, Arkansas the son of Charles Eugene and Cleva Susie Gunnels Johnson. He proudly served his country in the US Army and had worked at the US Army Corp of Engineers retiring in 2011 after 35 years. Russell was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bentonville. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was survived by his loving wife of 41 years Mary (Nancy) Johnson; his children Stacy Johnson (Bryan) Perry of Springdale, Arkansas, Stephanie Carson of Springdale, Arkansas, Holly (Ronald) Kelly of Gravette, Arkansas, Robert (Tammy) Taylor of Garfield, Arkansas; two brothers Lewis Boyd of Berryville, Arkansas and Richard Boyd of Guthrie, Oklahoma, three sisters Carolyn Wolfinbarger of Garfield, Arkansas, Marilyn Sparks of Arlington, Texas and Virginia Scates of Pineville, Missouri, as well thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was saved and loved the Lord. Visitation will be Tuesday February 20, 2018, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Bentonville in Bentonville, Arkansas followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. with full military honors.
