Edith Scott Phillips

Edith Scott Phillips, 77, of Crossett, died Saturday, February 17, 2018. Mrs. Phillips was a native of Fountain Hill; a resident of Crossett for the past 54 years and a former resident of Hamburg. She was a 1958 graduate of Hamburg High School where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. Mrs. Phillips worked as a Loan Officer and Vice President for 12 years at First State Bank. She retired in 2003 from the Crossett School Disctrict after 23 years of service and she sold AVON. Mrs. Phillips was a member of the First Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for many years and was involved in the Prayer Room Ministry. She was also a member of the Ashley County Medical Center Ladies Auxiliary for 10 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Millard E. Phillips in 2007; her parents, Aubrey D. & Trudy Wigley Scott; two brothers, James "Jim" Scott and Louis Aubrey Scott and two sisters, Betty Maxwell and Martha Kelley. She is survived by two daughters, Julie Phillips Vaden and husband, Tim, of Crossett and Joni Phillips Krisell and husband, Tim; a granddaughter, Meredith Brooke Krisell all of Mablevale and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral service: 2 p.m., Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Crossett with Rev. Jamie Staley officiating. Burial will be in the Flat Creek Cemetery.
