Searl Franklin "Frank" Collins

Searl Franklin "Frank" Collins, 96, died February 17, at Fayetteville. Frank was born to William Harrison Collins and Rosie Lee Williams-Collins in Madison County Arkansas. Frank was the oldest of twelve children. A great WWII patriot, he served the US Army Infantry from 1942 to 1945 in the Pacific Theatre. Frank was awarded many medals during the Philippine Liberation including three Bronze Stars. After his US Army discharge, Frank returned to Arkansas, where he married the love of his life Dorothy Virginia Crawford. Later Frank and his family moved to Entiat, Washington where he became an Orchardist and managed several orchards over the next four decades. In 1988 Frank retired and he and Virginia moved back to Arkansas to be near family. Frank and Virginia had three daughters, Dorothy Lee Shifley, Sylvia Marie Adams, and Tondi Lee Cisneros. Frank was preceded in death by his father, Harrison, mother, Rosie, wife Virginia, daughter, Dorothy, brother, Walker, and sisters, Billie and Virgie. Frank is survived by daughter, Sylvia and her husband Neal, daughter, Tondi Cisneros and husband Rafael, four grandchildren, Shawn Shifley, Rick Shifley, Tatum Adams-Dobberstein, Collin Adams, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and brothers Ben, Dotson, and Floyd Collins. Sisters Cleo Thurston, Susie Atchley, Sarah Petersen, Ethel Taylor, Melba Collins, and companion Wilma Carney. Frank was extremely proud of his military service and was a staunchly patriotic man. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. Brashears Funeral Home, Huntsville is charged with final arrangements. There will be no pre-service viewing or visitation. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Zion Christian Union Church, 4984 W. Weddington Dr., Fayetteville. Internment immediately following the service at the Witter Cemetery, in Witter. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the Zion Christian Union Church Youth Group, 6188 W.
