Edith Doris "Doodie" France, age 95, died February 20, 2018, in Southaven, Mississippi. Mrs. France was born February 1, 1923, in Hughes, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Mary Madden and Arthur Lewis Madden. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in West Memphis, and a member of The Infant of Prague Guild. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul France in 1989, and also by siblings Mary Virginia Morris, Ruth McBride, and A.L. Madden. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ellyn Marconi, and Paula Cosgrove (Jim), of Marion; four grandchildren, Paul Edward Marconi (Kimberly) of Byhalia, Mississippi, Ginger Barber (Ben) of Marion, Joseph Lendermon of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and James Paul Cosgrove of St. Louis, Missouri, and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving niece, Rita Fratesi. A memorial Mass will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church, West Memphis, at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 23. A Rosary will be held at 10 a.m. with visitation to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic Church, 411 N. Missouri St., West Memphis, Ark. 72301.
