Mrs. Edna "Granny" (Spence) Hunter, age 79, of Bryant, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2018. She was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on September 2, 1938 to Henry and Ila Spence; the 9th of 13 children. She grew up on a farm in North East Arkansas, but later lived in California, Texas and Arizona. She moved back to Arkansas last May to be close to family. She loved people and never met a stranger. She was a care giver for many friends and family members who preceded her. She was always ready to travel to see kin and had a special place in her heart for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was licensed Cosmetologist, a member of the Emblem Club and collected hummingbirds. Her favorite music was old country - anything on "Willies Road House". She trusted Jesus as her Savior and was baptized in the First Baptist Church of Jefferson, Texas in 1969. In latter days her faith and hope in Christ continued to increase right up until the moment He took her home. She attended Hope Church in Bryant. She is survived by her children; Terry Allenbaugh (Sandy), Karen Bryant (Mark), Kevin Allenbaugh, siblings; Terrell Therrell, Opal Bernstein, nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and her constant companion for the past five years, her dog Sassie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Church, P.O. Box 490, Bryant, Arkansas, 72089. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy. 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas.
