STANLEY KELLY, 97, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018. He was born in Traskwood, Ark., on Sept. 19, 1920, to Guy Lenard and Dora Eldridge Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Christine Wells Kelly; grandson, Billy Daniel Jr.; two brothers, Lawrence and Morris Kelly and two sisters, Treby Graham and Mamie Lewis. He attended Glen Rose Schools and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II serving on the Escort Carrier USS Windham Bay as a Boatswain's Mate Second Class. He was a watchmaker by profession and retired from Timex. He was a member of Graves Memorial Baptist Church and a former member and deacon at Amboy Baptist Church. Stanley was an avid golfer in his day and enjoyed keeping a vegetable garden as recently as last summer. He is survived by his four children: daughter, Drucilla (Robert) Cantrell; son, Jodie (Glenda) Kelly Sr.; daughter, Janis (Billy) Daniel Sr.; and daughter, Tamara (Don) Huggins. Also, surviving him are grandsons, Jodie (Jennifer) Kelly Jr.; Jason (Tish) Kelly; Daniel (Mallory) Huggins and granddaughters, Misty (Chris) Witcher and Dana (Sean) Nichols; five great-grandsons; seven great-granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his special friend Elizabeth Kelley. Memorials may be made to Graves Memorial Baptist Church, 4317 Oak Grove Road, North Little Rock, Ark., 72118. A visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., with service following at 11 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park.
