Robert "Bob" H. Thornton passed away peacefully on January 2, 2018 at home in Sugar Land, Texas. Bob leaves behind his wife, Ginger Dawson Thornton; son, Don Thornton and daughter Gayle Kirkpatrick; step-daughter Lauren Rocha; and grand kids, Nickolas Thornton, Anthony David Rocha-Molina, Gianna Rocha-Ramirez, Savanna Giselle Rocha-Ramirez; and goddaughter, Melissa "Boot" McLean. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Elizabeth Thornton. Bob was born in Charleston, South Carolina on November 24, 1941. He was raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas, attended North Little Rock Arkansas High School and graduated from Arkansas Teachers College. Bob lived most of his adult life in the Houston area where he met Ginger. Bob spent many years traveling the highways and country roads that crisscross America as a highly skilled right-of-way agent and manager. Over the years, Bob's knowledge of right-of-way, oil & gas, real estate and construction landed him in management positions for Metropolitan Transit Authority, Coates Field Services and others. Funeral services are being held on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 Broadway, Pearland, Texas 77581, 281-412-3000.
