Gwendolyn Latan Flemister, age 76, passed away from this life to her eternal home January 6, 2018. She was born March 26, 1941 in North Little Rock, the daughter of Bert C. and Marguerite Foster. She is survived by her loving husband, Clarence Patrick Flemister of Little Rock; two sons, Michael Patrick Flemister and his wife, Melissa, of Collierville, Tenn., Jonathan Crawford Flemister of Sherwood, Ark.; two granddaughters, Kara Nicole Erickson and her husband, Daymon, of Memphis, Tenn. and Kayla Danielle Flemister of Collierville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents. Gwen graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1959 and went on to attend college at the University of Arkansas and UALR. She was very committed to her family and did not work outside of the home until both of her sons had graduated from high school. She was so proud that both of her children were able to obtain a college degree and have successful and rewarding careers. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church and Cornerstone Sunday School Class. She enjoyed knitting and was one of the go to ladies in the IBC Prayer Shawl Ministry. Her greatest joy as a mother was seeing both sons baptized after they had accepted Christ as their personal Savior. Later she had the privilege of seeing both of her granddaughters baptized. Gwen, an exceptionally attractive lady, was immaculate in appearance and in deeds. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, January 11th at Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Prayer Shawl Ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church. Her final resting place will be in Rest Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501) 224-2200 Gwen's online guestbook may be signed at www.littlerockfuneralhome.com.
