Doyle Harvey Jolly passed from this earth January 9, 2018. He was born July 25, 1920. At the age of 18 months, his beloved grandparents took him, his older sister and brother in as their own. They raised him on the farm that he lived on for 97 years. Doyle spent one year in CCC Camp. Then he met his beautiful wife on the lawn of Centerville Methodist Church during an annual Mothers Day Singing. He was 19 and Grace was 16. It didn't take long for them to discover true love. Doyle was drafted on October 2, 1942. He spent time in France and Germany at the Battle of The Bulge and on beaches of Normandy. While away, he wrote letters to his wife about the dreams of coming home and "cleaning up that old home place". He wanted to come home and farm. Doyle loved people and took part on many committees to help farmers such as FHA Board, AMPI, and ASCS. Doyle worked hard and played harder. He loved fox hunting, traveling, and being out enjoying nature. He traveled to see most every state discovering that he loved Wyoming and Colorado best, due to excellent elk hunting and trout fishing. Anything Doyle set his mind to accomplish, he accomplished. Doyle loved running his dogs, he liked to hunt and hunt everything. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. Doyle was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Mary Elizabeth (Molly McCraken) and James Andrew Jolly, his parents, Mae (Akins) and Bevily Jolly. He was also preceded in death by his son whom he lost recently, Hal Jolly, brother, Coy Jolly and sister, Wanda Jolly White. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Grace (Webb), Jolly, Sandy (Cathy Kitts), Jim (Pam Patton), Nina Hankins Jolly, Don (Donna Pearson) and Teresa (Philip) Golden and many grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 12th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Centerville Methodist Church, with Pastor Lana Gardner and Zeb Golden officiating. Burial will follow at McNew Cemetery in Greenbrier. Serving as pallbearers will be Grant McGhee, Joseph Jolly, Joshua Jolly, John Jolly, Justin Jolly, Zeb Golden, and Zane Golden. Honorary pallbearers will be Melanie Jolly, Marilee Mendoza, Mandy Hare, Nicole Grey, Sammy Lemarr, Grace Golden, and Jennifer Barber.
