Joseph Andrew Schneider

Joseph Andrew Schneider, 100 of Richardson, Texas formerly of Springdale passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 in Richardson. He was born September 20, 1917 in Baltimore, Maryland to Michael and Anna Winter Schneider. Joseph worked at the Springdale Post Office and he was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II. He was a loving and caring person who loved to raise tomatoes. He was a longtime volunteer for MDA. He loved sharing stories. He was an avid baseball, college football and Dallas Cowboy fan. His family was his first priority. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Eunice Brooks Schneider, one grandson, Christopher Clayton, one brother, Michael Schneider and two sisters, Mary Hevesy and Elizabeth Schneider. Survivors include two daughters, Wava Devin and husband Bill of Richardson,Texas and Mary Clayton and husband Kenneth of Farmington; five grandchildren, Michael, Jamie, Michele, Bryce, Kent and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Friendship Cemetery in Springdal. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. The family asks those wishing to express their respects to consider a donation to MDA which was the charity he supported in order to some day have a cure for the terrible disease that struck down Chris, his first grandchild.
