Eugene Wilson Moore Jr., of Green Forest, Arkansas passed to his Lord Monday, January 8, 2018 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville at the age of 77. Wilson was born to Gene and Marguerite Moore on March 30, 1940. He was raised in an active and civic minded family that was involved in the legal community, education, politics, and health care. Wilson attended the Harrison Schools, graduating in 1958 and was an active student, participating in athletics, clubs and student councils. In 1967 Wilson graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology. Upon completion of his education he began his 40 year career in business as a Sales Executive for Proctor & Gamble. He later joined Wal-Mart during a period of rapid growth where he served in store management positions in the Mid-South and Southwest United States. Wilson moved back to his home state and his beloved Ozark Mountains and began a long association with his friends at Davis-Barr Chevrolet in Berryville and retired as their finance manager. Bored in retirement, he returned to work part time for Community First Bank in Berryville where he served many teammates and customers. When not working, Wilson was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing in the Ozarks and the Delta with his family and friends. As an active community leader, he served in Jaycees, Cub Scouts and organizations that supported his industry line of business. He was active in his church, serving as an elder, a CYF director and the pulpit when called. He remained a supportive and devoted husband to Janice and she to him. A good and protective father, he was committed to teaching valuable life lessons of integrity, hard work and good choices to his children. He was preceded in death by his parents and only sister, Mary Virginia Hatfield. Wilson is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janice Moore; his children, Eugene Wilson Moore III and wife Tammy of Heber Springs; Krisi Paryzek and husband Gary of Pea Ridge; his step-children, Jeff Roberts of Green Forest and Julie Pruitt of Eagle Rock, Mo.; his brother, Jeff Moore and wife Miriam of Batesville; eight grandchildren, Gene, Witt, Scharla, Lexy, Jarrin, Jordan, Carl and Janci; two great-grandchildren, Ross and Win; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at Maplewood Cemetery on Saturday, January 13th at 10 a.m. with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Following graveside services, a Celebration of Life and Visitation will be held in the Hearthroom of First Christian Church in Harrison from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations can be made in Wilson's memory to Boone County Heritage Museum, 124 S.
