Carolyn Ann Sivillo

Carolyn Ann Sivillo, a resident of Conway, SC, died Jan. 11, 2018 at her home, in the loving company of her husband and children. She was born March 29, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to Dorothy and Edmund Abele. Carolyn met and married her lifetime companion, Pete W. Sivillo. She lived in Alvin, Texas until retirement when they moved to Fayetteville, Ark., and lived there for 17 years before moving to South Carolina in 2015. Carolyn was the most giving person and always went out of her way to put the needs and wants of others ahead of her own. She was quick to put others at ease with her friendly and outgoing personality. People knew her and Pete as "The Dancers" as they were always first on the floor for a Rumba, Cumbia and the Waltz. Her dancing was once described by an onlooker as "smooth as silk". Her love of animals was never-ending and she was quick to adopt strays or injured animals, including cats, birds and even a pet pigeon and a chicken. Carolyn and Peter loved to travel all of their lives such as camping, cruising and visiting their kids. As a result, their kids pretty much mirror their lives much the same way. She was a great mother and is survived by her children, Carol Dellwo and her husband Nick of Gilory, Calif., Karyn Houston and her husband Charles of Columbia, IL and Peter Sivillo and his wife Connie of Hartsville, SC and a loving grandmother to Justin Mattle, Tyler Houston and Ben Sivillo. Carolyn had a great and long life and while we will miss her, we know she is in a better place. Her life is to be celebrated. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 at The Catholic Church of St. James with Father Timothy Akanson officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium. The family requests memorials may be made to your favorite charity. Please sign an online guestbook at www.goldfinchfuneralhome.com. Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel is serving the family.
