Eva Joyce Doyle, age 68, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018 from Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease. She was born Oct. 29, 1949 in Jonesboro, Ark., the daughter of Gene and Omagene Mashburn Irvin. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Steve Irvin. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Jessie Harold; two daughters Kimberly Griffey and her husband Barry of Springdale and Cassie Hamby and her husband Justin of Fayetteville; four grandchildren Ethan Horton, Emma Horton, Ellie Horton and Olivia Hamby; two brothers Rick Irvin of Jonesboro and Glen Irvin of Hardy; three sisters-in-laws Janice Holland, Liz Holland and Velma Doyle, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker and mother, and she was an amazing "MaMa" to her grandkids. She never missed a ballgame, swim meet, concert or recital. She was a talented seamstress who helped many young Jonesboro brides in the 90's design their wedding and bridesmaid dresses. She made the best fried chicken; her grandkids requested it every chance they got. She will be deeply missed. She loved spending time in her garden, spending hours planting and tending her flowers or just sitting in her gazebo with her dog Dixie admiring her flowers. She was adamant that flowers should not be picked that they should just be admired in their natural setting, so please do not send any flowers or plants to her service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation. This disease is so rare and progresses so rapidly and is so often misdiagnosed that opportunities for research for a cure are limited. Because this research is so important to us we will have donation envelopes available at her services or donations can be mailed to Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Foundation at P.O. Box 5312, Akron, OH 44334 or online at cjdfoundation.org. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16 from 5-7 p.m., at First Baptist Church Fayetteville in the Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20 at Poplar Valley Church, County Road 159 Bono, Ark., with Reverend Paul Bean officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
