Asuncion "Peppy" Rios Wood, 87, of Hot Springs, made her final departure into heaven on January 17, 2018. She was born August 25, 1930 to Andres and Antonia Rios in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Peppy was of the Baptist faith, and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Cabot. She was a longtime employee of Hank's Doghouse and Riverfront Hilton. She enjoyed cooking and ceramics. Peppy was a beautiful lady inside and out. She never met a stranger. She adored her children and grandchildren dearly. Her family will miss her spirit and her heart. The family would like to give a special thanks to Arkansas Hospice of Hot Springs. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ava; son, Dale Alan Wood; and her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, M.D. "Don" Wood; children, Aida (Randy) Reeves, Kenneth (Dawne) Wood, Don (Sharon) Wood, wife of the late Dale Alan, Tonja Wood; siblings, Samuel Rios, Raul Rios, Gloria Millett, Mary Tomlinson; 11 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home on Sunday, January 21, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 2 p.m., also at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home.
