Magalene Susie Pugh

MAGALENE (SUSIE) INGRAM HOGAN PUGH died Friday after a long illness. Born in Blytheville, Ark., to William Kent and Magalene Ingram. Susie grew up in West Memphis and attended The Hutchison School in Memphis. She attended the University of Arkansas where she was a Kappa Kappa Gamma. Susie met and married Ben M. Hogan, Jr. which brought her to Little Rock. Little Rock became home for her, and she spent her time raising her three children and as an active volunteer with the Junior League and other community organizations. She later went on to work for the Janet Jones Company, where she was a top producer. Susie married Tom Pugh Sr. in September of 1989 and they lived in Portland, Ark. for about 10 years before moving back to Little Rock after Tom retired. Susie was a fierce tennis player and loved traveling to The US Open and other professional matches Susie adored her family and was a cherished mom of three and grandmother of 11. She enjoyed birding, traveling, spending time with her family and rooting for the Razorbacks. One of her dreams was to go to Africa, which she did in 2006. She loved seeing all of the animals and especially the Secretary Bird. Susie is survived by her husband, Tom Pugh Sr., sons Miles and Dan Hogan and daughter Maggie Hogan, step-sons Frank and Tom Pugh Jr. Her brothers Keith and Kent Ingram, eleven grandchildren, one great-grandson, a host of nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Billie Dean Reeder and one nephew. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the wonderful caregivers at the Bob and Ginny Shell Alzheimer's Unit as well as Hospice Home Care. The level of care provided by all was exemplary and very much appreciated. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral ceremony at 11 a.m. both at Ruebel Funeral Home, 6313 West Markham Street, Little Rock, AR 72205.
