Cecilia Lucille Hegeman Schierlang was born June 24, 1927, in Atkins, Ark., to William and Cecilia Zimmerebner Hegeman. After her first few months in Atkins, she spent the rest of her life living in Conway. She was valedictorian of her graduating Class of 1945 at St. Joseph Catholic School in Conway. She trained at Daughon's School of Business in Little Rock, and followed a career of accounting for Lonzo Ross, Attorney at Law, and later as payroll clerk for Nabholz Construction. Yet, her primary career was always raising her family. She greatly loved her children and their children. She always looked forward to the next family get-together, visiting, taking pictures, and getting to hold a new baby. She loved growing flowers, needlecraft, singing church hymns, and helping to provide for her family's education and interests. Teachers and employers knew her for her honesty, diligence, attendance, and accuracy. Friends knew her for her gentle manner, kindness, and dependability. Family knew her for her endless love, caring, understanding, and birthday cards mailed year after year. She was a devout member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Schierlang, and two daughters, Patricia Jean Schierlang and Mary Frances Schierlang. She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Davis and Theresa Nahlen; two brothers, Bill (Martha) Hegeman and Louis (Betty) Hegeman; three sons, David Schierlang, Fred Schierlang, and John Schierlang, three grandchildren, Tiffany (Dale) Kennedy, Patrick Schierlang, and Chris Schierlang; three great-grandchildren, Raymond Finnegan, Colin Finnegan, and Alex Kennedy, nieces, nephews, and godchildren, who will always treasure happy memories of her.
