Walter Edward Jones Jr.

Walter Edward "Ed" Jones Jr., of Oil Trough, Ark., died on Friday, Jan. 19. He was born on Oct. 23, 1946, in Newport, Ark. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kay Pankey Jones; son Walter Edward Jones III and his wife Cameron; son Colonel Marcus Allen Jones, his wife Carrie, and children William and Abby; daughter Mary Kathryn Murphy, her husband Mark, and children McCormick, Tucker, and Marrhett; sister Carolyn Jones Edwards; sister-in-law Sue Green Jones; brother- and sister-in-law David and Cindy Pankey; step-sisters Carolyn Whitby, Vivian McBride, and Sheila Williams; step-brother Darrell Wrinkles; and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Kathryn Jones, step-mother Geneva Jones, and brother, Tommy Jones. Services will be conducted at the White River Baptist Church in Oil Trough, on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. with visitation to follow.
