Henrietta (Etta) Paladino Rowland, 92, entered eternal life January 22, 2018. Born to Tony and Minnie Paladino in Center Ridge Arkansas February 18, 1925, Etta was the 14th of their 17 children in this Catholic Point community. Etta went to St. Joseph school in Center Ridge and later moved to, and studied in, Little Rock, Arkansas where she met her husband, Charles William Rowland. They were married February 14, 1955. After a brief residence in Dallas, Texas they moved to North Little Rock where they owned and operated Rowland Draperies on Main Street. Etta and her family were members of St. Patrick Church where she was an active member, a Eucharistic minister and a member of the Ladies Guild. Etta also volunteered for many years at the A.B.B.A. House run by the Missionaries of Charity Sisters, the religious order of Mother Teresa. Her undevoted love of Mother Teresa and the sisters was a true passion and calling to which she dedicated many hours helping with maintenance on the house in Little Rock. Etta will be remembered for her unwavering faith in God, her love for her family, her work ethic and her creativity. Her faith was truly powerful and felt by those around her. Etta was survived by her daughter, Patty and son-in-law Ed Echols of Dallas, Texas, her granddaughter Brittany Rowland and great grandchildren Kaeden and Alaina Rowland of North Little Rock, Arkansas; her sister, Florence (Babe) Andreas of Houston, Texas; and her numerous nieces and nephews. Etta was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Rowland, children Michael Christopher, Kelly Michelle and Charles Huston Rowland, her parents Tony and Minnie Paladino; her brothers Frank, Father Christopher, Paul, John, Andrew, Joseph, Henry and Lawrence Paladino; sisters Mary Rossi, Frances DeSalvo Sr., Lucille Paladino, Amelia Whitten and many other cherished family members. We express grateful appreciation for her caregivers, Terri Spears, Sarah Browne, Christina Clark, Mary Dorado, her Seniors Helping Seniors companions and the staff at Parson's House of Dallas, Texas for taking such loving care of Etta for the last six years. We also thank the Eucharistic ministers of St. Monica Church who continued to bring her the blessed sacraments when she was no longer able to attend mass at the church. Visitation will be at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street, North Little Rock, Ark. 72114 from 4-6 p.m. Friday with the Rosary immediately following. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 211 W. 19th St., North Little Rock, Ark. 72114. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock. Memorials can be made to the Missionaries of Charity, 1014 S. Oak St., Little Rock, Ark. 72204. Online guestbook at www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
