Charlene Phillips of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2018. She was born on August 31, 1928 to Charlie Fletcher Floyd and Ida Floyd in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Edwin Floyd; and seven sisters, Gussie Smith, Beatrice Andrews, Eugenia Byers, Vida Mae O'Dell, Jessie Gibson, Lessie Lessel, and Ruth Thompson. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Little Rock. She was one of the founders of the Bible Study Fellowship and was a teacher of that group for many years. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 70 years, Charles Phillips of Little Rock, Ark.; a son, Dr. Eddie Phillips (Holly) also of Little Rock; a daughter, Jane Jolly (David) of Hot Springs, Ark.; and four grandchildren: Sam Rosen (Melanie) of Charleston, S.C., Dr. Chris Rosen (Sarah) of Fayetteville, Ark., Jason Phillips of Dallas, Texas, and Julia Acosta (Hershel) of Dallas, Texas. She had seven great-grandchildren, Ben, Henry, Addie, Oliver, Sophia, Levi, and Nora. She also had numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas, officiated by Brother Paul Holderfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Health Foundation, 9601 Baptist Health Drive, Little Rock, Ark. 72205.
