James Lorn Davidson, 70, of Shannon Hills, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, in Dallas, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lorn A. "Shorty" Davidson and Merle Jean (Crowley) Davidson Williams. He leaves behind his wife of 27 years, Cheryl, and 7 children and their spouses: James Michael (Theresa) Davidson, Michelle (Vince) Mann, Wendy (Justin) Poe, Scott (Meaghan) Gillespie, Monica (Joseph) Davidson, Reese Davidson, and Ana-Cherie "Hong" Davidson. His grandkids are Beth (Chris) Hansen, Kaci Mann and fiancé Sam Mills, Brittany Leath, Brandon Mann, Sierra Brown, Jonathan Mann, Emilee Poe, Emily Hansen, AvaGrace Mann, Saoirse Davidson, and Shannon James Davidson, anticipated in June 2018. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Charlie (Karen) Davidson and Leonard (Judy) Davidson. He was born September 11, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a member of the last senior class of Mabelvale High School and the first graduating class of McClellan High School, the class of 1966. He joined the US Air Force and medically discharged with a rank of Airman First Class. He worked for the US Postal Service for 33 years as a letter carrier. He retired in 2011 after spending many years on the same route. He was involved in scouting and softball for many years, serving as the scoutmaster for BSA Troop 4, and as the coach for first the Medics and then the Cobras, his daughters' softball team. James was an avid NASCAR fan until Tony Stewart retired. He had tattoos for his favorite driver, and once spent the night in the parking lot at Mark Martin Ford in Batesville to get the autograph of his favorite driver, which he then had tattooed on his arm. He also loved and supported McCafferty Academy of Irish Dance, where his younger daughters were dancers. James was an amazing husband, father, and Pepaw/Papa. His loss is felt deeply, and he will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to St. Theresa Catholic School, 6311 Baseline Road, Little Rock, Ark. 72209. Visitation service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Roller-Drummond Southwest at 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209, with a memorial service to follow.
