Vonceille Boyd Ballard, 90, born June 15, 1927, saw Jesus face to face January 28, 2018, and was transformed into His image, becoming like Him with no imperfections. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton. Vonceille worked for 51 years in the banking industry and retired from Benton State Bank. After retirement, she worked at Ballard Funeral Home and The Flower Cart. Vonceille made delicious birthday cakes for family and friends. Preceding Vonceille in death was her loving husband of over 63 years, Ernest E. "Gene" Ballard. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted sons: Glenn Ballard and wife Paige of Little Rock, Sam Ballard and wife Becky of Benton, and Steve Ballard and wife Debbi of Benton; five grandchildren: Jason Ballard and wife Kriston, Brooke Neufer and husband Jared, Kelsey Schramko and husband Chris, Anna Ballard and Harrison Ballard; seven great-grandchildren; brothers: Claude Boyd and wife Norma of Mt. Pleasant, Texas and Dean Boyd and wife Mary Jane Boyd of Colorado; daughter-in-law, Cindy Ballard of Benton; and a host of family and friends who love Vonceille and will miss her always. Special thanks to Saline Memorial Hospice, Evergreen Living Center, and Mt. Carmel Assisted Living for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 30, at First Baptist Church Selph Hall, 211 S. Market St., Benton, Arkansas. Funeral service, officiated by Dr. Rick Grant, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 31, at First Baptist Church. Services entrusted to Smith-Benton Funeral Home.
