Millicant Hearne

MILLICANT DIANA HALEY HEARNE, a shining light of selfless joy, passed into spirit form on June 16, 2016 in Little Rock, Ark. She was born Dec. 29, 1950 in Richmond, Calif. "Millie," as she was affectionately known, made lasting memories in Toledo, Ohio, Grand Prairie, Texas, and more recently Arkansas, where she raised three children while working for the Little Rock School District and later as a natural hair care cosmetologist. Nothing gave Millicant more pleasure than sharing knowledge and her passion for art in many forms. She would often dance to reggae songs while cooking her well-loved vegetarian cuisine. Her early adult years as a professional dance instructor only foreshadowed a career of creative endeavors including fashion and jewelry design, boasting a collection as colorful as her personality. Millicant's undying spirit will live through her children, Ra Ambe; Sadio Kai; Eshe Dziko; sister, Maureen and brother, Conway; and a host of family and friends. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Miles Princeton, Analyse Ankhet, Khem Parresh, Afiyah Fareese, Ayasha Marie, and Azia Diana. A memorial service will be held Saturday July 7th 1:00pm at the funeral home Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home 1518 S. Battery St. little Rock, Ark. 72202.
