A.L. Ruple, 87, of Little Rock passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2018. He was the husband of Emogene Hughes Ruple. They were 12 days shy of their 66th wedding anniversary. Born in Texarkana, Arkansas on February 7th, 1931. He was the son of Alta Lee Ruple and Mable Carter. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 20 years, was a Korean War Veteran and was in the Tactical Missile Squadron, then Strategic Air Command and awarded many ribbons while he served. He worked various jobs throughout his life; from being a driver for J.B. Hunt to the manufacturing of church furniture. He was an adventurer; whether during the time he was in the Air Force or when he was behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler, he saw the world and most things that small town kids from Arkansas never got to see. He was an avid fisherman, craftsman, and bird/squirrel watcher. He was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, and most of all, he was a God-fearing man. He and his wife were members at Immanuel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by: Alta Ruple and Mable Carter, sister, Jeanine Haun and Cody Pierce. He is survived by his spouse, Emogene. His brothers, Fred Ruple (June Ruple) and Lee Lane (Regina Lane). His children, Angela Hansard (Jim Hansard), Elizabeth Aaron and Ashley Turney. He had five grandchildren; Aimee Gardner, Ashley Turney, Heather Forsythe, Sarah Forsythe, and William Aaron. He had one great grandson, Aidan Gardner. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. July 5th, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church with interment at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
