Dennis Ray Kordsmeier

DENNIS RAY KORDSMEIER (71) of Little Rock took his last breath on July 4, 2018 and was surrounded by the loving embrace of friends and family until his final hours. Dennis will be remembered by his wife Sara of 43 years, son Nolan (Suzanne), daughter Angie (David), grandsons Davis and Tyler, siblings Bud, Patti, Sharon, Valerie, and many loved ones who will always reflect upon his love, laughter, and bravely passionate heart. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Raphael and Herman, and brother Kenneth of Morrilton. Dennis' unsurpassed intelligence and quest for knowledge took him through many pathways in his life's journey. He was raised in Morrilton, Ark., and, after extensive study in the Catholic seminary during his youth, proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War where he specialized as a Russian linguist. He continued his service to our country through his work with the NSA where he used his gifts of creativity and intelligence. Dennis devoted himself to providing a prosperous life for his wife and children and this selfless dedication and concern for his family remained until his final hours. It was these personal values that led him through a successful career in finance with GMAC and Toyota World Omni. His commitment to his work for the sake of his family's welfare will always be remembered with eternal gratitude. When asked during his last week with us about his greatest accomplishment, Dennis answered immediately, "my children Angie and Nolan are my pride and joy." Dennis was an avid golfer and excellent fisherman but most of all treasured spending time with his children, playing cards, and using his own special brand of humor to set any problem right. For those who knew Dennis best, it will always be his witty witticisms, love for language, knowledge of world affairs, and resilience that captured his essence. His love for the outdoors and adventure has taken Dennis through mountains, oceans, lakes, and rivers and in his last days he made his peace with God. His siblings, children, grandchildren, and devoted wife will always remember him with love, laughter, and a tender heart. We know Dennis will always be smiling and looking upon us with confidence, pride, and the warm light of eternal love. The family would like to thank Dr. Barry Ford and Arkansas Hospice for their excellent care the past several months. We are also grateful for the many caring friends who provided love and support along the way. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
