Jean C. Moore

Jean C. Moore, 86, of Benton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 6, 2018. She was born July 17, 1931 in Bearden, Ark.; the second of seven children to Jesse and Gladys Vaughan Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Moore; brother, Harry Caldwell; son-in-law, James Shelton and a daughter-in-law, Beth Moore. Jean was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where she served as church secretary for many years and was a choir member. She worked as bookkeeper for Bryant Exxon, the business that she co-owned and ran with her husband for several years. When she wasn't working, she was busy taking care of five kids by cooking, cleaning, sewing clothes and attending school functions. She is survived by her five children, two daughters, Debby Shelton and Shelly Benham (Kevin) of Benton, three sons, Joe David Moore (Deborah) of Cabot, Jay Moore of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Vic Moore (Katherine) of Benton; thirteen grandchildren, Justin Shelton, Holly Vaughn, Jessica Miller, Sarah Stallsworth, Paige Shelton, Jacob Moore, Travis Moore, Natalie Moore, Jonathan Moore, Abby Moore, Amanda Seese, Aaron Benham and Megan Benham; ten great-grandchildren, Jackson Shelton, Taylor Shelton, Kyleigh Vaughn, Jalynn Miller, Garrison Miller, Jameson Shelton, Elizabeth Moore, Eric Moore, Vivian Moore and Caroline Moore. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, July 10 at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Smith Rosemont Cemetery. Bro. Mack Davis will be officiating.
