Robert Lee Hall, 97, of Hogeye passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018, at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born February 9, 1921 in Senath, Missouri to Robert Edgar and Martha Hall. He was a Second Lieutenant in World War Two, flying 35 missions over Europe as bombardier of a B-17 Flying Fortress. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and an Oak Leaf Cluster for displaying courage, coolness, and skill. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University and Teachers College, Columbia University in New York City. He taught 36 years, 22 of those years in the Fayetteville High School English Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Juanita Swindle Hall, two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie, one daughter; Katie Young and husband Joe of Hogeye, two sons; Lee Hall and wife Susan of Hogeye, and Dr. Roger Leung of Alexandria, Va., and five grandchildren. Visitation will be on Wednesday night, July 11, 2018 from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
