Young J. Lee, 92, passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday, July 9, 2018. He was born May 23, 1926 in Dermott, Arkansas to Jaim and Jin See Lee of China. He left school early to join the military where he became a sergeant in the 93rd Bombardment Squadron 19th Bombardment Group and was a Machine Gun 1st Class Gunner during WWII. After continental and foreign service, he received an Honorable Discharge and returned to Dermott to work with his father in the grocery business and start a family. After many years in the grocery business, his interest turned to becoming a restaurateur and became a partner in the Hong Kong restaurant in Little Rock and along with his wife, later opened the first Chinese restaurant in North Little Rock, House of China, which he operated for 23 years. During that time, he was selected to serve on the North Little Rock Advertising and Promotion Commission. After retiring from the restaurant business, he enjoyed time with his family, which included eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a brother, Belser Lee of Dermott, Arkansas and a sister. He is survived by his wife, BoBo Lee of Little Rock; two daughters, Tiki Bennett and her husband, Doug, and Alana Lee, all of North Little Rock; and two sons, Donovan Lee and Kelino Lee and his wife, Cathy of Little Rock. Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 P.M., prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Clay Toombs, Logan Campbell, Dennis Lee, Douglas Bennett II, Evan Lee, and Steve Dodge.
